ABOUT THE REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH RESEARCH PROJECT
GJL and the Status Project’s first research project is centered on adolescent girls and reproductive health: gender roles, expectations and attitudes. Specifically, the research goal is to better understand how gender role expectations influence girls’ reproductive health AND to inform efforts to improve reproductive health services and outcomes for adolescent girls in Philadelphia. This project reflects a gender informed approach and is centered on the voices of a community of girls residing in Philadelphia. In the end, GJL and the Status Project seek to use this research to help launch a girls’ reproductive justice advocacy agenda and to make recommendations on reproductive health policy, practice and funding priorities.
